ILLEGAL FRAUD HONDA !!

I went to purchase a car and of course because I was a young girl they decided to take advantage of me. I ended up going to a lawyer because I thought my deal was shady, 3 hours later while on the phone with them, we found out how shady the dealership was. They sold me a car without me even signing the deal , refinanced it at the WRONG price. They didn't even give me a receipt for the 3k that I paid for instead they took all the forms and put it in a nice envelope and said all the information I needed was there. Wrong, the deal was illegal and wrong, I have lawyers involved and we are heading to a small claims court. I pray that no other young person goes through this it's very sad.

Dealerships have been known to slip ecstasy to certain shoppers. I know a gal who bought a 1993 Accord for $23,000 because she swore it looked like a porsche.

Honda hiding problem with CRV

Reported transmission issues withn CRV (2nd into 3rd gear) on three successive 10,000km services leading up to expiry of 5 year warranty. MacArthur Honda acknowledged problem worse during Mar13 service and were going to replace the transmission as per pending action on their last service invoice. They subsequently reversed that decision and have steadfastly refused to explain why they failed to follow through on that documented decision, what was done (if anything) to the vehicle during the week and a half at the dealership, nor have they come back with any response with a similar lackluster response from Honda Australia. Will now explore legal action and/or approaching the media ...is their reticence hiding a bigger issue eg vehicle recall... Will I buy another Honda?

Would appear dealership wanted to fully replace transmission but Honda Australia vetoed it in favour of a cheaper component/s replacement.

Refund carefree car protection

I am disappointed. 7 years ago when I purchase my Honda in Bethesda MD crv I was told that if you take the carefree car protection program and you did not use it you will get a refund back.

It has been 2 month and still they cannot process my request because the dealership in Bethesda have lost the paper of the deal??.... Any suggestion are welcome.

Hi anonymous

Did you have any luck getting your refund? I'm a few months out on submitting for the refund after 7 years and no claims.

I believe I have copies of all the transaction paper work.

Do you have any advice?

In dealing with car salesman I totally figured it was just a pitch to close the deal, and I 'd never see that money again. after all Hondas never have issues until around 9 or 10 years down the road.

CIVIC-TOO LOW TO GROUND

I acknowledge that it was my responsibility to purchase a more fitting car. However, dipping only a foot from an empty dirt lot into a parking lot (lower by a foot), parts of the floor of my car bent and fell off (scraping the cement).

I should have assessed this before attempting the slight drop, but I had seen VW Beetles, Toyota Corollas, and Nissan Altimas do this with absolutely no problem. Also, the breaks are ridiculously fragile and have about a 20 second delay. MY CIVIC MODEL IS FROM 2012 (purchased August 2012). $196 worth of damages.

For the average middle class teenager, I recommend the Toyota Corolla (whether new or old).

More fuel efficient, smoother, 2 or 3 times more elevated and has a much higher residual value. TOYOTA ALL THE WAY.

Rancho santa margarita honda used car scam

I went to buy a used car for the first time in my life at rancho santa margarita honda. the service was great but the car was a lemon. they had completely cleaned the engine of the used car i bought so i wouldn't notice any leaking. but within 2 months of owning and driving the car less than 1000 miles, the whole underside was soaked in oil. turns out the rear crankshaft oil seal is broken. which will cost me $1200 to get fixed. I bought the car as is so there is nothing i can do. even though i bought it over priced even for perfect condition and the told me nothing was wrong with it. they took advantage of my lack of car knowledge and sold me an over priced lemon.

Honda air condition

I own three Hondas and all have no air!!! The highest mileage car is 65 thousand!! The main costumer service , is useless . They have had many problems with their air condition systems. They don't want to help on any of them!!! I will NEVER buy another HONDA again. Honda has had class action law suits against them in the past regarding these issues, they were completely apathetic even though there were tons of complaints . They clearly have problems with service . My honda that I needed assistance with is an 06 pilot with 42,000 miles the condenser was bad due to the fact that they placed it wrong and the part has no protection from stones ,salt and various debris . They are willing to lose a life long costumer for a 100$ part!

Honda Oddysey peeling paint

We bought a new Honda Oddysey in early July 2006 and after 3 weeks noticed a silver dollar sized area on back tailgate area that was bubbling up and peeling. I thought that the dealership would readily repair such an obvious defect on a new car. Wrong! I was told by the service manager at Honda of Annapolis where we had just purchased the car that he would have to speak to the regional representative, but he doubted it would be covered! He said this CONTINUALLY to me. I asked what could've caused it? He said I was probably putting chemicals on it!!!!! I was 4 months pregnant at the time and was certainly not handling that! He finally took the pictures and my husband and I continually called to see when the representative would be in. We would be promised a date, then they would cancel it. I called Honda corporation 3 times and they also wouldn't budge on repainting my van an also said that the service manager said I was putting chemicals on it! FINALLY, while in the hospital after delivering my baby, my husband was told by the regional representative that "Oh yea, this vehicle came from the Alabama plant and this is the third vehicle that I have seen where they didn't put the primer between the plastic part of the vehicle and the paint! Honda did repaint the back where the paint had bubbled and pealed and I had it in writing that we could have the other portions of the car that were also plastic repainted up to 3 years/36,000 miles. My complaint, even after all these years, is that the service manager, nor Honda corporation ever apologized to me and the grief they caused. They do not stand behind their product and if you were unable to make a determination as to whether a repair is covered, then why are you accusing a customer of harming their vehicle? Still angry and will NEVER buy a Honda again! Also have had 3 power steering repairs, 2 motor mount repairs and a starter. Still drive my "war wagon" and it has 150,000 miles and has been maintained at all manufacturer intervals.

MY CAR BOKE DOWN ON 20,000 KMS MAJOR STARTING TROUBLE

I called up the service department of your dealership m/s Lally automobiles , in wazirpur industrial area delhi for a help but the mechanic who came on site also couldn’t start the car , and i was told that i had to get it lifted by a crane and get it dropped at the service station at my own expense , which i did . Next day when I reached the service station, the result is still negative the trained team of Honda mechanics also couldn’t start my car and have no answer of what is wrong with the machine, then after several hours they tell me that the engine oil , and coolant in the vehicle have got mixed , due to which the problem exist and we cant take risk of starting the car without opening the engine . My car have just ran a distance of about 20,000km from the date of purchase and I don’t understand how can things like happen? Even a TATA nano that cost hardly a lakh INR goes smooth upto 1,50000 kms , but how can a Honda car –one of the most trusted brand all over the world in automobiles gets stopped at 20,000km , I am shocked !!!!!! The officials at the service station tells me that such problems occur due to over heating , i am not a car mechanic but i can easily tell if car gets over heated as it blinks on the speedometer box , but there was no indication there , moreover a car doesn’t gets heated up after driving just 10-15 kms on the normal city conditions . My car have always got regular serviced at the same service station as per required , from the date of purchase there was a complaint of heated a/c button , for which i made complaints many times , but it could not be rectified and at last i was told it happens in Honda cars , i accepted the fact and kept on driving as it didn’t matter much . Now the service station tells me they are not aware of the problem and they will have to open the engine to know the problem existing for which they have given an estimate of around 60,000 INR . I feel i am being cheated and made fool by using Honda product as no cars engine gets opened up by 20,000kms , and there is defiantly some manufacturing defect , which the service station people are not experienced to deal with . I strongly request you all to kindly look into the matter and get the problem solved at your earliest fr

DO NOT GO TO THIS HONDA SERVICE CENTER!!!! I took my vehicle to the Service Center on Monday for a recall. I set up the appointment the Thursday before and dropped it off at 8 am as scheduled. I asked for it to be done by 3pm. My Honda was working great, no issues.... drove it there just fine. They were to replace a power steering hose. They picked me up and told me my vehicle was ready. I waited over 30 mins (almost 4pm!!!) after I got my paperwork and signed.. Only suggestion or mention on paperwork was for an alignment. When I got into my vehicle I couldn't even turn the steering wheel or pull into a parking spot. It was very clear that something was wrong with my vehicle and I wasn't able to drive home. I had a car seat in the back and I am a young woman. They refused to give me a ride home until my husband got off work, they refused to help me unless I signed something and they told me it could cost $800 and not guarantee me that it would be fixed. I said, "No, I drove it in here just fine... now I can't even drive home. If I tried to turn in front of this intersection I would cause an accident." The owner spoke to my husband and kept going on and on about the pump that it was an "aftermarket" pump he put in over a year ago. NO, it was an OEM part and it was specifically for the Honda and he used Honda fluid. Long story short but they left me stranded at their location. I wasn't able to pick up my young daughter and they left me and laughed in my face and kept repeating" THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO FOR YOU". I am so disgusted with Honda now and I will never again purchase a Honda. It ended up being oxygen/air from the power steering hose they replaced which cost my husband $0.00 vs. the hundreds you tried to scam out of me. Now, I am left with a huge scratch in my driver's side door and your Lisle owner/manager/ egotistical *** says there's no way I can prove it. It WAS NOT there when I dropped my car off that morning. I have spent hours on the phone and no one can do anything to help me. I called your 1-800- number and they can't help me. You can't treat people like this and get away with it. I am not going away until you resolve this issue and I deserve not only an apology, but there needs to be repercussions for your actions or lack thereof.

Steering Pump and Steering Rack LEAKING!

I'm heavily pissed at the manufacturing qualities of Honda as my only 60 thousand kilometers driven Honda Civic 2008 has developed Steering Pump and Steering rack leak issue. Dealer is charging me over 1000$ to fix this issue which is completely outrageous. I am owning Honda's for 10 years happily but now I'm feeling like loosing faith and confidence on this company. The very same car developed Mounting issue at 30 thousand kilometers and paid 200$ just for this issue. I'm however looking for Honda Japan's email ID to directly contact them but it seems they don't even have an email ID which. How should a customer out of Japan territory contact these people about these issues? It's Honda's own manufacturing fault and they are charging people's hard earned money rather than fixing it. I'm looking forward to be contacted by Honda japan My email id is : saadik78@***.com

Honda premature transmission failure

My Honda Accord 2002 has only 70K mileage but has premature transmission failure; am original owner and Honda did regular maintenance, but dealer in Kingwood said I don't qualify based on my VIN for recall, or discount or help to replace transmission. Looking at several thousand dollars for the repair. Honda premature transmission failure class action was settled but they tell me mine is not covered since my car is so old. It's clear from reading online that Honda's are NOT what they used to be, no longer reliable or quality product, and they refuse to stand behind their claims of reliability or superior quality.

I ow n a 2005 honda element . In 2008 I had the same problem, my transmission was going out, and was told it would cost me well over 3000 to replace.and then was told that my transmission was going out because I was probably extremely hard on my vehicle.

So I did what any red blooded American / cuban female / single mother with three jobs, just to stay off welfare would do. I got mad and I got loud, this in the middle of the showroom floor on a weekend.our first point it out to the service manager that new brakes were not recommended on my vehicle till well after I had hit a hundred thousand miles, which proved that I was not hard on my vehicle. I Than very loudly explained that when I came in to buy my Honda I explained to the salesman that I needed a vehicle that would last at least 300,000 miles, I was assured that this vehicle and Honda was famed for lasting a long time.but he neglected to mention that Honda transmissions only last for a hundred thousand miles. At this point everyone in the showroom was looking at me, the manager then tried to get me to go into the office with him, I refuse to do that.

I thought it was important that everybody in that showroom know that Honda was selling a product that would only last them a hundred thousand miles. This is when the service manager called Honda Corp. Two days later I had my new transmission from Honda did not pay for it but had to pay 800 in labor.said transmission now has a hundred forty thousand miles and once again it is going out and I am told I need another one.

Management at the same Honda dealer has now put in a second call to Honda Corp for a new transmission. Still waiting for answer on whether or not I will be paying once again for labor or having to purchase a new transmission.

In 2001-**** Honda started putting transmission coolers on the transmission to fix the problem that the 1998-**** accords had. Your accord would not be covered under the warranty and it the automatic transmissions were always known to fail about the 70k mark, I have replaced my transmission 3 times so far in my 2000.

2008 Honda Accord warranty means nothing.

1) Chronic brake issues started within app 25,000 miles and every 25-40 thousand since then. I called Honda of America the second time with no results or no help in the cost of repair, even though there was a supposed settlement from a lawsuit. I am part owner of a construction company and we have never had this much trouble, and the cost associated with, the brakes on our one ton trucks, dump trucks, and semi trucks that we own. There is a definite design flaw and the only way we have delayed the repair of the brakes is by installing after market brakes and rotors. All other cars which we have owned or currently own have averaged 80,000 miles before they needed brakes. This includes the following makes and models: a Ford Taurus, a Ford Explorer, a Honda Civic, a Ford F350, and a GMC 3500. 2) The leather seats that are falling apart and have been since the car was app. one year old. My wife brought it the dealer’s attention, during visits for oil changes, over and over with no results. They now say that it will cost us $1,000.00 to repair them. We happen to know a man who lives near us and he had the same problem, but Honda actually repaired his seats for free. 3) The key less entry which never worked well from day one. My wife took it in and brought this problem to the service departments attention, numerous times, again with no results. They did however gladly attempt to repair this problem after the warranty expired for a cost of app. $200.00. To this day it works intermittently. 4) The battery failed during the warranty period. Honda of Cleveland told us that it was not under warranty. I then purchased one from another source. After researching the warranty documents I then realized that it should have been replaced under warranty. Once again I contacted Honda of Cleveland and Honda of America with no results. 5) The transmission failed under warranty and I can thankfully say that they did decide to pay for that. AMAZING! Other issues have occurred while out of warranty and they are as follows:The dual zone climate control does not work properly, the radio does not work some times, and there is an intermittent ticking sound in the dash which is very loud at times. I did calculate the cost of operation of this car, which excludes fuel, oil, and basic maintenance, and it has averaged $175.00. per month. This is at Honda of Cleveland’s quoted and estimated prices to repair the problems which we have experienced. This does not include the repair of the radio, climate control, etc. I have owned, and still do own other Honda products, such as generators and atv’s with no problems. Time and time again I have tried to stay loyal to Honda. But with the apparent lack of concern from Honda of Cleveland & Honda America, product loyalty is waning. I will tell the truth when people ask if we like our car. My possible response may be something like the following: "A laundry list of issues""A high cost of ownership""A dealer who does not stand behind his obligations when it comes to warranty issues’""And an out of touch, and unconcerned, California based, U.S. Head quarters"

Honda civic car leather seat completely damaged due to leakage of petrol line

M/s Autokam HondaE-93, MadriMewar Industrial AreaN.H.-8, Udaipur – 313 001 Dear Sir, This is with reference to our complaint dated 21st October, 2013 regarding damage of leather seat in Honda Civic vehicle purchased in 2010. You will please appreciate that vehicle was purchased with 4 years (2 + 2 ) warranty / 80000 KM which ever is earlier. This vehicle has run hardly around 40,000 KM which in less than 4 years and is fully covered in warrantee period. The leather seat has got damaged due to leakage of petrol tank line. Initially we were under impression that it might be some other reason but after servicing it was observed that there was some leakage in petrol tank line which is passing under seat and it has already caused complete damage to the leather seat. The condition of leather seat is very bad and it needs to be replaced by Honda free of cost. At time of servicing also you should have observed the same but no corrective action has been done. It is suggested that you should take up the matter pro-actively and replace it at the earliest looking to the goodwill of Honda vehicle and confirm so that vehicle can be sent to Udaipur for replacement of leather seat. Please don't take it lightly and take approval from Honda if required pro-actively. Awaiting your immediate response. Regards, Sajan NairManager (PS)BMD Pvt. ltd.LNJ Nagar, Mordi,Banswara (Raj.)Ph. We are sorry to mention that about a year ago we observed that some colour change is visible on back seats. On initial checking it was found that there is petrol smell and it was also damaging clothes. We were under impression that some petrol might be dropped by driver inadequately during servicing but the fact was different and it was observed that there was some leakage in petrol line which is passing under seat. During servicing it has been repaired / cleaning of seats but it has already caused complete damage to the leather seat. Photograph of which is attached.
